How to Make Up With Your Girlfriend

By Sara Summers

Wondering how you can get back with your ex girlfriend? The first thing you should know is that breaking up is a very delicate situation. Your feelings and her feelings are both hurt so it is important that you are careful about what you're doing, otherwise it will be worse. Here are the considerations that you need to make when it comes to figuring out how to get back with your ex girlfriend.

1 - It is the most important thing to know what was it that you did that made your ex girlfriend broke up with you? Many girls often do not break up with a guy they love so easily. There must be a really good reason behind why she broke up with you, even if you may not be aware of what it really is. Your first step is to figure out what went wrong in the relationship. Find out whether it could have been prevented, and in what ways can you now fix it since you already realize the real reason behind the break up.

2 - Did your ex girlfriend break up because it was completely your fault? If it is your own fault, then you should let your ex girlfriend know that you realize your mistakes and what has happened, and that you know it was all your fault. You apologize to her and express that you are genuinely sorry for your actions that made her very upset and get mad at you that she broke up with you.

3 - Even if you are now doing your best to court your ex girlfriend again, you still need to socialize and go out. Just because your ex girlfriend just broke up with you does not mean that you also need to isolate yourself from everyone else. You can date another girl, or at least go out and have some fun with your friends. A bit of jealousy can work to your own advantage and help you get her back.

4 - Show your ex girlfriend that you do still care about her, even if you might have already moved on. It is essential for her to know if you really want her back. Let her know that you still have feelings for her. You will be more desirable and more mature in her eyes, and that will make her want you back.

5 - Finally, it is important that you work hard to become friends with your ex again. This will build trust, and will help to make you closer to one another. Afterwards, you should ask her why you broke up in the first place, but be casual about it rather than appearing desperate. She will either admit that it was a mistake that the two of you broke up, or she will let you know that the break up was for the better. Once you have an answer, you can proceed from there. - 31368

Lost That Lovin' Feeling?

By Haylee Landford

Valentine's Day approaches, saturated in romantic opportunities. If you are one of the millions of Valentine's Day celebrators that are married, maybe you are running out of ideas of how to keep connected with your spouse. It doesn't have to be Valentine's Day for you to try these relationship building tactics.

It goes without saying that you should find the similarities that you have with your spouse, but are the differences really that bad? I suggest having a two-faced date night. You start by spending the first half of the evening doing whatever the wife wants to do, and the second half doing what the husband wants to do.

This does require you to be a good sport when it's your significant other's turn. But, this way you each learn new things about how the other enjoys spending their time. You may be surprised when your husband wants to go thrift store shopping or your wife wants to go to the arcade.

Another way to bond is not waiting for a power outage to like some candles. Or you can even be safe with some soft lamps, lanterns, or flashlights. The whole point is to then sit down and read a book together. The dim lights make it quite necessary to get a close together as possible in read the words.

Books are always a good idea in a relationship for stimulating good conversation. You will love all you learn about each other as you discuss the themes, topics and ideas from the books you read. A good example is that by seeing how your spouse sees and understands certain characters, you can use that to see a different side to them.

Giving presents is a sure fire winner, but why not trying something much less expensive. The modern world of fast communication has robbed us of the good old fashioned love letter. Many movies and stories have glamorized the joy of writing and receiving letters from someone you love.

Surprise your spouse with a letter in the mailbox expressing the sweet feelings you have for them. Send it from work, or just the post office, and the mystery will bring such a smile to their face when they know it's from you. Plus, it only costs a stamp.

If your spouse is lucky enough for you to afford a lavish present, why not get the most substantial gift your money can buy. Imagine the gesture of giving your loved one acres of land or property. It is a sure expression of the longevity you see in your marriage. You could give it as the future site for a custom built home, which would thrill any wife.

Plus, there isn't any kind of man that doesn't feel the self importance of owning his own land. It's such a sure concrete expression of the immense feelings you have. Plus, land is a commodity that will always hold value.

With all this said, nothing can replace the time you spend together. Whatever you do or give, just making the better half of yourself feel worth your time, is the most precious gift. In your own way, be sure to do it with all your heart. - 31368

Expressing Love To Your Valentine Without Going Broke

By Adriana Noton

Valentine's Day is one of those special holidays that you let that special someone know how you feel about them. With this holiday becoming so commercialized, it can often seem as though expressing your love can be very expensive, especially when one is on a tight budget. Fortunately, expressing love to your Valentine does not mean you have to go broke. There are a number of easy ways you can express your love without looking cheap. Below are a number of tips to make your holiday special without breaking your budget.

1. Many couples will go out to dinner on Valentine's Day. When on a tight budget, this can often end up being a very expensive dining experience with the price hampering the romantic mood. One suggestion is to check the newspaper and coupon books for special Valentine Day specials. You can often find a two for one deal on special Valentine Day's meals. If you are unable to find an affordable restaurant, you can always stay at home and make a special homemade meal. You will save a substantial amount of money if you shop for ingredients that are on sale. As well, you can be creative and romantic by having a candlelight dinner with romantic music. If you want to make a night of it, you can rent a romantic movie to watch after dinner.

2. Create your own special home spa bath. You can light scented candles in a bathroom, play romantic music in the background, and relax in a warm bubble bath. There are a number of stores such as 'Dollar Stores' that sell inexpensive scented bubble bath, bath salts, massage oils, and scented soaps. A warm bubble bath for two while drinking a glass of wine is a romantic and inexpensive way to spend Valentine's Day.

3. Flowers are a traditional Valentine's Day gift. Many people think a bouquet of flowers are expensive. However, you can often buy cheaper flowers at a supermarket or if you have a flower garden, you can pick them yourself to make a creative bouquet. If you purchase flowers, you can create a beautiful blend of less expensive flowers.

4. Making homemade gifts can often mean more than a store bought gift. You can make a homemade mini scrapbook highlighting the special moments of your relationship. You can find inexpensive scrapbooks and accessories at discount stores or department stores. Special items to put in the scrapbook can include pictures, ticket stubs for a special concert, a menu or business card of the first restaurant where you ate, etc.

For people who love romance, Valentine's Day is a very special time to express their love. During difficult economic times, it can be tough to come up with an inexpensive way to celebrate the holiday. If you find yourself tightening your budget because of the recent decline in the economy, you can still celebrate Valentine's Day. With a little careful financial planning such as setting money aside a few months before the special day, and coming up with an inexpensive way to celebrate the occasion, you may find that you have the most romantic time ever. - 31368

A Word about Online Personals

By Jayde Johanssen

You've heard the story before. You've witnessed it on the big screen. In Hollywood flicks, like You've Got Mail and Must Love Dogs, the leading man and his female counterpart meet online and they fall in love. Virtual romance blossoms everywhere.

If you think about it, it's easy to trace the evolution of the whole online dating phenomenon. It's a consequence of email, instant messaging, and social networking. The internet has brought humans together in a way that never was possible before. The natural extension, of course, is online dating. And more now than ever before, people are using the internet to find romance.

At the beginning, online personals seemed just plain odd. It was something reserved for, misfits, losers and cranks. But today, that stigma has been shrugged off and legions of people are taking to the net with the hopes of finding companionship and the ever elusive true love.

The whole system is a work of genius. Charging a membership fee to allow singles to browse personal profiles is pure gold. Today the online personals industry is booming.

Online personals, like Match.com and relative newcomer Plenty of Fish have more members now than ever before. However, the internet dating phenomenon first became a hit around 2003-04. Monthly traffic hit 40 million in late August of 2003.

For those who aren't familiar with online personals, here's a short rundown. An online personal is basically a profile, similar to your Facebook or Myspace profile. Usually people include information about their personal interests, their physical attributes (height, weight, eye color, etc), race, religion, smoking and drinking habits, a short blurb or description of themselves, and a sentence or two about what they are looking for in a mate or partner.

Online daters communicate using private on site messaging. They can also send virtual hugs, winks, kisses, etc. Essentially, the gist is that users can look through different profiles, find the lucky lady or lad that sparks an interest, contact them and then eventually meet them in an offline setting, for a date.

Online daters are gung ho about the idea that they can find their soul mate online. It's much more precise than regular dating. Going to a bar, for instance, is basically like walking blindfolded into a minefield. It's hit or miss. Online, however, you can pick and choose; you narrow down the candidates and aim for the bull's eye.

And perhaps true love waits just beyond the flickering computer screen. That's the hope, after all.

Of course the online dating scene isn't without its pitfalls. Many people tend to fib. They exaggerate their physical characteristics. They put down phony birth dates, they lower their weight, they make themselves taller, blonder, tanner than they really are. Some people even post fake pictures.

Still, you can find romance if you look in the right places. It's easy to separate the bad eggs from the good ones and find your one true love. - 31368

By Gail Jones

A song can tell you a lot about life, the person who wrote it, the person who sings it and the person who likes to listen to it.. Songs belong to different genres. Have you ever come across a genre which is immortal? If you did would it be about love or hatred? Of course, everybody would declare that 'love' is the most discussed, written and sung about by people of all races and nationalities. So, it is no surprise then to find out what makes a date worth cherishing?

Music invariably has something to do with it and music could actually style the mood of your date. Dating is such a great way of choosing your future lifetime spouse. When you are out on a date, see to it that the music is well-selected and that it generates a mood of romance.

People have composed all styles of songs, but the ones they write the best are love songs. Since the day the first love song was created, people's hearts have been melting. Songs of finding a new love, losing love, songs of inspiration, songs of moving on, songs about romance, first loves and the gush of emotions.

With all due respect to all the artists concerned and their fans too, here are some of the most popular songs of Romance. They demonstrate the feelings of two people in love during a very romantic date:

Truly, Madly, Deeply: (Savage Garden) - this duo's song speaks of a deep love and promises made to the other person.

I'd be your dream I'd be your wish I'd be your fantasy I'd be your hope, be your love Be everything that you need

This I Promise You: (N-Sync) - this group filled the airwaves with love. This song is really a promise of a lifetime's commitment. It is often used as a wedding song.

And I will take you in my arms And hold you right where you belong Until the day my life is through This I promise you

Iris: (Goo Goo Dolls) - it gained popularity not just because of the film in which it featured, but because the song touches the heart.

And I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken - I just want you to know who I am.

Dreaming of You: (Selina) - the singer died tragically, but the song lives on. It is a light song, but it goes straight to the heart.

I'm dreaming of you tonight 'Til tomorrow And for all of my life And there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be.

Songs will always be a big part of courtship and that usually begins with a date. Music is the food of love and music is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. Heart Jewelry Dates Back To WHEN???

By Betsy Johnson

We have received so many wonderful responses on the articles regarding heart jewelry that we have written in the past. We thank you so much. Today we would like to write a more generic article regarding the history of jewelry in general. "Jewelry Making" as an art form has been around for thousands of years, and we see that different cultures have incorporated it in various ways. When we examine these pieces of jewelry we gain insight into how these various cultures worked...

In Ancient Africa the homo sapiens provide us with the first signs of a culture using jewelry. Snail shell beads have been found at the Blombos Cave in South Africa that date back to over 75,000 years ago. At Enkapune Ya Moto in Kenya beads made from ostrich egg shells have been found that date back to over 40,000 years ago.

When we think of Egypt images of the Great Pyramids and the Ancient Sphinx come to mind. And jewelry making? Not so much...but it is in Ancient Egypt (about 3,000 to 5,000 years ago) that we find the first signs of established jewelry making. Egyptians made their jewelry out of many of the materials that we use today...such as gemstones, but they preferred to make their jewelry out of glass, as it could be colored to satisfy their needs and tastes. For every gemstone that they could find, they were able to create a glass replication that could mimic it. As years went on, other cultures, such as the Phoenicians, used Egyptian jewelry as a template for their own designs.

Color was very important for the Ancient Egyptians. To them, different colors meant different things. If we would like to examine this matter further, we need to look no further than the Book of the Dead. It tells us that the necklace of Isis that was to be placed on the mummy's desk needed to be red. The color red would satisfy Isis's need for blood. Green jewelry on the other hand symbolized new growth in the area of fertility and crops. Egyptian jewelry was made primarily in large workshops that were attached to temples and palaces.

Around 4000 years ago, in the cities of Sumer and Akkad in Ancient Mesopotamia, jewelry development and production started to spring up. This jewelry was often made from metal leaf. It was often set in a large number of brightly-colored stones (such as lapis, jasper, carnelian, and agate). Various shapes, such as grapes, leafs, spirals and cones were also incorporated into their various designs. The Ancient Mesopotamians were also masters in the area of record keeping, and they have found in various archaeological sites huge archives of detailed records relating to not only the creation, but the trading, of jewelry.

We hope this little departure from our usual heart jewelry articles has been fun and educational. It's amazing to see how jewelry making as evolved over the years. - 31368
